ELV Porsche 991/981/970/92A

In the Porsche  911 ( 991)  / Boxster / Cymen (981) / Panamera ( 970, 971)  / Cayenne 92A is  one of the most common causes that the ignition can not be switched on, a defective steering column lock (ELV).

This always has the effect that the ignition cannot be switched on and the car does not start.

These motors have one of the following part numbers :

7PP905852B, 7PP905852C

In some vehicles, this error is then shown in the speedometer display “steering defective” or “steering locked” or something like that “.

With some vehicles, however, unfortunately, not even that. Then simply nothing happens when you turn the key to turn on the ignition.

These motors are not pure motors, they are the actuators with integrated control unit.

If they try to operate such a device without adjustment on the car, then the immobilizer is active and the ignition can not be switched on!

To fit a used steering column lock to your vehicle, you would need to send us your front onboard control unit and a key. The old steering column motor is not necessarily needed, but you are welcome to send it along.
