Audi A8 (4e)

here we will try to describe the typical error patterns / problems that these vehicles get with the immobilizer.

These always have the effect that the ignition cannot be switched on and the car will not start.
In the Audi A8 (4e), the main cause is the Kessy control unit, which gets water damage.

The devices are installed under the carpet under the driver’s seat and often get one portion of water too many via blocked sunroof drains or blocked drains in the water tank (in front of the windscreen).
This then has the effect that the keyless control unit issues an error or fails completely.

Here is the possibility that you send us the defective device and we try to read out the data from this device to then program a device with the same spare part number.

After that, the replacement device can then be installed in the vehicle plug and play, that means without additional coding work.

The old keys are recognized, the steering column locks and unlocks again as usual and the ignition can be switched on.

We usually need one business day to recover the data and code the new device.

Unfortunately, however, consequential errors can also occur. Since the Kessy control units also control the starter relay. If they are submerged in water, the starter motor may rotate permanently (without the car starting), causing damage.

Another fairly common problem is a defective steering column lock.

But every now and then the keys break and have to be replaced, but we can usually offer replacements.
