Touareg, Cayenne, Audi A8, Bentley Contiental Kessy/Fbs control units

The most common fault with the VW Phaetons / Audi A8 and Bentley Cntinental is water damage to the devices.

This causes the device to become unresponsive and the ignition of the vehiclest cannot be switched on.

Even if the devices do not look quite like the device from the example picture due to cleaning attempts, then the devices usually cannot be repaired.

However, we can usually still read the data from devices that look like this in order to use it to code a device with the same part number.

After that, the replacement device can then be installed in the vehicle plug and play, which means without any additional coding work.

The old keys are recognized, the steering column locks and unlocks again as usual and the ignition can be switched on.

We usually need one business day to recover the data and code the new device.

These control units are available in two versions. On the one hand, these are the devices that only contain the immobilizer of the vehicles, or on the other hand, they are devices that also control the keyless go function.

These control units usually have one of the following part numbers :

3d0909135Q, 3d0909135L, 3d0909135C, 3d0909135F, 3D0909135LX 3D0909135QX 3D0909137X 3D0909137BX 3D0909137DX 3D0909137D 3D0909137FX 3D0909137F, 3D0909137G, 3D0909137Gx , 4e0909131K, 4e0909131Kx, 4e0909131C, 4e0909131Cx, 4e0909131L, 4e0909131Lx, 4e0907181A, 4e0907181Ax

They are very likely to break if one of the vehicle handles has a defect/short circuit, or if the antennas are defective. This has the effect that the keyless reading function fails.

This means that the key cannot be recognized when the start button is pressed and the car cannot be locked/opened by touching the handles without first unlocking the car.

The following fault is usually stored in the fault memory of the devices:
00003 – Control unit
012 – Electrical fault in circuit
or:
00003 – Control Module
012 – Electrical Fault in Circuit

One of the subsequent faults is that the devices consume a relatively large amount of power and do not switch to stand-by mode. This means that the vehicle battery is empty within a few days.

As a rule, we can repair devices with this error, they do not necessarily have to be replaced.

After you have received the devices back from us, it is recommended to read out the error memory once to determine which handles/which antennas are defective.

If these handles/antennas are not replaced or at least disconnected, the control units may be damaged again.
